			<title>2nd Annual Kyu Fest Tournament</title>
			<link>http://www.usik.org/cms/index.php?option=com_content&amp;task=view&amp;id=62&amp;Itemid=70</link>
<description>The 2010 Isshinryu Kyu Fest Invitation Tournament is rapidly approaching, and it&amp;rsquo;s up to you as an instructor to reach out to your students and help make this event a great success. This is the first in a series of weekly e-mail updates related to this tournament. With an unwavering focus on the students, this tournament offers a great chance for the up and coming members of your dojo to gain valuable experience, build relationships with other students of Isshinryu, and develop their confidence in their abilities. This tournament is a unique opportunity for students to compete in an Isshinryu-only event. This is a valuable chance for kyu level students compete on a level playing field without having to deal with the flash, fluff, and non-traditional styles that often dominate open tournaments. With less than two weeks remaining at the initial price point of $30 for two events, this tournament represents a great value as well. Having a tournament to prepare for also creates an added value in the focus and preparation that goes into competing, something every student needs in their study of Isshinryu. The tournament will be held at Weddington Middle School (http://maps.google.com/maps?f=q source=s_q hl=en geocode= q=5903+Deal+Road,+Matthews,+NC+28104-7973 sll=35.730473,-78.764623 sspn=0.207632,0.293884 ie=UTF8 hq= hnear=5903+Deal+Rd,+Matthews,+Union,+North+Carolina ll=35.004954,-80.721102 spn=0.00914,0.015943 t=h z=16) on the morning of Saturday, October 9th. Utmost attention is being paid to the operation of this event, and the competition should be finished by the early afternoon. With divisions being limited to six competitors or less wherever possible, students will have a real chance to place and not be lost in a massive mess of competitors. With a focus on competition and camaraderie in Isshinryu, the 2010 Kyu Fest Invitation Tournament can&amp;rsquo;t be beaten. There will be a portrait photographer from TSS Sports Photography as well as Eagle T-shirts on site to make sure that you have some great memories to go home with. </description>
